Welcome to the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW)

(For women graduates, students and those who support the ideals of CFUW)

• Opportunities for fun, friendship, learning and service
• Meetings on educational, political, social and cultural issues with a focus on equality for women and girls
• Study and interest groups on a wide range of topics from literature and music to fitness, travel, languages and cuisine
• Development, research and review of resolutions for consideration at the National or Ontario Council Annual General Meetings
• Local advocacy on CFUW policies such as the Status of Women, the Environment, Quality Education for all
• Supporting students through scholarships and awards, early learning with Ready 2 Read and literacy with reading support programs

CFUW Perth and district began in 1970 and has been an important part of my life for the past five years. My introduction to CFUW was when I was approached by the House Tour Committee to see if I would consider having my house on the very first tour. We had just moved here in 2005 and our house was on the 2006 tour. I joined the club that January. Fund raising has always been a part of my life and the ideals of CFUW seemed to me to be very worth while.

CFUW has meant meeting and working with interesting, outstanding women on issues and projects. Through the years there have been opportunities to share work and social experiences with many women, and the result has been deep and lasting friendships. I hope CFUW Perth and District will offer the same to you.

We want to offer to all who support the ideals of CFUW the opportunity to come visit us, learn about who we are and what we do. I hope you will also want to be a part of our club and bring a friend who might be interested in joining our club also. Learn about our planned activities for the coming year and what Interests Groups we have available.
